Today I was feeling particularly lost so I wore my traditional attire. For some reason it always helps me overcome some of my home-sickness.Am from Kenya. I happened to land on your website and suddenly I felt much better. Although I didn't find what I was looking for, am confident you've done a good job. I just wish next time I will be able to get some information if I need it. It would be a good idea for you to put information on other African communities apart from the West Africans. Am sure there is alot for the world to learn from this website.
das ist good
I am a publicist/writer who recently was initiated as a Yoruba priest. I was looking for more information on the religion and came across your site. It is awesome -- well-constructed and informative. It gave me ideas for my clients. I especially liked the effects used for Sango, Baba Mi!
As an elected African American member of a school board this site is so very helpful when doing research that leads to education of others serving with me who are not African American and thus need to be educated on the realities and complexities of African American life in the USA.
I found this page while I was looking for information of Bembe and Regla de Ocha religion for my homework for school and I was tremendly surprised when I found this fantastic page full of interesting and very specific information about this. I recommend everyboy to listen whatever of the song that are available into it, they will bring you to another place.
This site is full of information...It was recommended to me by a friend..and I will be sure to pass it along. Keep up the good work.

I would like to thank everyone involved in this site. It makes me proud to see sites like this one. My religion Santeria, needs to become more united. I know that we are all over the world. Please place me in your guestbook. Ache to all those beautiful babalochas out there, I hope my message reaches each one of you. Just one simple advise "lets not give the world the pleasure to keep endangering us, if you practice the religion do it with love in your heart".
I am looking for a more precise translation of a dance/drum-song popularized by Pearl Primus. The title is - Fanga Alafia and I have three verses that go like this: 1. ) Fanga A Lafiya - Ashe- Ashe (x4) Ashe-Ashe-Ashe-Ashe Fanga A Lafiya- Ashe-Ashe 2.) Ikabo A Lafiya - Ashe - Ashe (x4) Ashe-Ashe-Ashe-Ashe Ikabo A Lafiya - Ashe-Ashe 3.) Ellugua A Lafiya- Ashe-Ashe (x4) Ashe-Ashe-Ashe-Ashe Ellegua A Lafiya- Ashe- Ashe Note: The spellings are irregular, "Ashe"/"Ase", "Alafia"/"A Lafiya" are two variants. I've been told that this is merely a dance of welcome/blessing; but it looks like more than that to me. What is the mention of "Elegua" in the third verse? I've also run into suggestions that there is a connection with Shango... I would deeply appreciate any help in understanding this song/hymn/dance. Thank you, Emyth@mindspring.com
modupe modupe modupe this is a very beautiful site and very informative please add me on to your guestbook. odobo
i am really impressed by this act of self discovery for an almost lost race. please, can you send me info. on how to get more materials on ifa and links in the u.k
It is good to see these sites up and online, however I don't understand the slam against the Ifa Foundation, which has some very good points, like it or not. As an interracial, I've been told that I am not "pure enough" to be involved with Santeria; I can't speak the language, and I don't know the rhythms, therefore I am not "true" or what have you. I find this cruel and elitist, which is what makes any belief abominable. Please don't fall into that trap. Having the "right" color skin and knowing the language back and front doesn't make anymore more pure than anyone else.
Aboru Aboya to all involved with this guestbook; good to see your guests seem to be unaffected by The Ifa Foundation madness which has infected the masses. Thank you for this selfless service towards the emancipation of the black race and more importantly, healing the world.
I REALLY ENJOY DIVERSITY AND APPRECIATE OTHER CULTURES I REALLY DID ENJOY THE WEBSITE. PLEASE SEND ME MORE INFO.
Wonderful site!
This is a truly wonderful and informative site. One of the only ones that distinguish between the Christian ethos and Nigerian deities and ethics. Others I have seen have failed to realize that Nigerians already had an excellent moral code and guide into spirituality. They did not require the Europeans to teach them how to live and worship. As fewer and fewer Nigerians choose to continue the old religion in favour of the false mysticism of the bible. Your website is gives me some assurance that there are still some Nigerians out there who have not been taken in. Nigerian culture consisting of its ancestral spirits and clans is very old thousands of years predating that of their colonial European overlords. We should never forget the role that we have played in the creation of the civilization and socialization humanity. We were there at the begining along with the ancient Egyptians cfeating art, literature, architecture, cosomology and textiles and this is our greatest legacy to humankind.

I love you writings. I have just nearly completed the small red Cuban IFA book into English. I has taken awhile because each page have to be past by Orumula. The Cuban cross with Yoruba is not quick os you woud think. I am not copywriting it because it is God's and Orula's works. I has some stories , sulutions, and works so that an English Olwo can undersand. I was hoping that if it was good. that some who would buy it to send the money to th poor hungry priest whom help to make it, I willl help them get good food and help you weak Goddaugther. This the shout red bood book, only 256+ pagers I don't want others to learn the way I have to, Please give me you thoughts. The book is for Olwo's and Preist and Preistist love to all. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT THIS IS A VERY INFORMATIVE SITE. I, BORN IN N.Y TO CUBAN PARENTS, WAS JUST STUMBLING THORUGH THE SUBJECT ON THE INTERNET TO SEE WHAT COULD POSSIBLE BE OUT THERE ON THE SUBJECT OF YORUBA RELIGION (YOU KNOW THAT WE CALL IT SANTERIA). I KNOW THAT OVER THE CENTURIES CUBANS HAVE MADE SOME CHANGES TO THIS ORIGINAL AFRICAN RELIGION. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THAT THIS SITE HAD THAT MUCH INFO TO SHARE. ESPECIALLY, THAT YOU EVEN INCLUDED THE SONGS AND LYRICS, TO WHICH I NEVER REALLY UNDERSTOOD THE LYRICS. I DONT KNOW WHO ARE THE ONES RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SITE BUT I DO APPRECIATE THE INFO PROVIDED. MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AND PLEASE CARRY ON WITH INFORMING THE PUBLIC TO THIS OLD ANCIENT WAY OF LIFE THAT WE STILL SHARE TO THIS DAY.
